Officially I can now die a happy man. Last weekend I was thrilled to be invited onto the judging panel for the Kingsford Invitational Australasian BBQ Competition held at the Australian Brewery in Rouse Hill. The top 32 BBQ teams from across Australia, New Zealand and a handful from the States came to the Brewery to compete in this Grand Final BBQ cook off and during the judge training it sunk in that each team that was attending could only get there by winning an event earlier in the year. Ok going through the order of judging Chicken followed by Lamb, I am literally salivating at this point.... Next up is Pork then Pork Ribs and last of all Brisket. Wow a lot of food tasting to get through I thought but nah I won't have a problem with that, ohh how wrong I was!
By the end of the tasting I was literally bursting at the seams, Yes your only suppose to take a bite for tasting but they all tasted too good to only stick to one bite and I wanted to make sure I scored accurately of course
, I would even sacrifice needing to eat for a couple of days.
The standard of food was outstanding and it must have a nightmare tallying all of those close scores. We still think we have the best Beef Jerky Australia wide, though hats off too these guys and girls they take meat to a whole new level! Can't wait for the next event to catch up with some new mates and get a chance at again sampling the best food I have ever eaten.
